Recovering from the Carbonite Endpoint Client Restoring from the Dashboard If files are accidentally deleted or become corrupted, you can use the Restore tab to locate and restore the files.

From the Carbonite Endpoint client, click Restore at the top. Locate the backed-up files or folders to restore by double-clicking folders to see their contents. By default, the list contains files and folders found on your machine since the last time protection scanned.

To show only the files protected from a specific date, click Restore point and choose a new date and time. If you know the names of the files or folders to restore, then you can search for the files by typing in the search box.

Select the files and folders you wish to restore. Holding the Shift or Ctrl key while clicking on files and folders will allow you to select multiple files and folders.

If you want to restore a file which has been deleted, then check the box for Include deleted files. Click Next and choose your restore settings. Choose the location to which the files and folders should be restored. Select Original location to restore the files to their protected location. Select New location to restore the files to a location separate from the original protected location.

Choose what to do when there is an existing file with the same name as the file to be restored in the restore location. Choosing Create a new file… will append ". Click Restore to begin the restore process. Note: Carbonite Endpoint checks the status of a file based on its name and original location on your computer. Files that are moved and renamed will appear as deleted from your computer.

Download files in a web browser through the Access dashboard. However, this can be adjusted to a maximum of MB for downloads and 50MB for emails by modifying the policy assigned to the device you whose files are being retrieved.

Perform admin restore from the Vault dashboard.
